Matthew got to read to a dog at the library.  He read for almost 30 minutes and his dog was the only one that stayed awake for most of the reading.

We brought a dog book and he read some others.  He insisted that no cat books would be read to a dog.

We hung out and played at the library for a little bit.

 Puppet show time

Matthew was sick Friday so don't tell him that Molly and Max got to go to a carnival.  They had a great time.  I love how Max holds on with two hands.  You may see pictures of Grant and I like this around the time she turns 16.  That's if I even get in a car with her.

I think he thought he better take over with his wheel in the back too.

You need a lot of stuffed animals to sleep in our house.
We had 3 parties this past weekend, and two were at the same gymnastics center in Bartlett.  At the one on Sunday Ariel came to the party.  Max was a little shy.
It was a great time, this party was for Ella, the little girl we had a playdate with earlier in the week.

 They were comparing heights.

The gymnastics center was super hot as you can tell from Max's face.
3 minutes into the ride and he was out.

Robot Week

We have not done many weeks this summer and I am very frustrated with that.  I also realized Matthew is already going back to school very soon.  I need to get two important weeks in before he goes back, so next week is Frozen for Molly and then Lego week for Matthew.  This week we did some awesome robot activities.
They made robots out of different shapes.

They designed robots given different parts.  Matthew just had a head and he made a Matthew robot.  Molly's had the center piece.

They love the dice graph game so I try to do it a lot.  This one was related to Wall-E, who is a robot.
This book Nine got us.  As you read it there are pieces to take out and you get to make your own robot just like the story.

We made an actual robot out of lots of different parts.  It didn't really move or anything but it looked really cool.  Even Max was trying to do things.

Our finished robot, I was pretty impressed with what it looked like.  They did a great job.

 Robot high fives.
We found a robot drawing book, here is Matthew's drawing.  He followed the directions in the book.

Play Date

This past week we had a playdate with some of Matthew and Molly's friends.  It is one of Matthew's friends from kindergarten and it works out great because he has a little sister Molly's age.  There is no one for Max but he has a great time because they all love him.  They think he is like parrot and are constantly trying to get him to repeat things they say.  These playdates are always forcing me to be social with other parents as well, which I guess is a good thing for me.  This week we had one at Cantigny, the kids loved the tanks.
