Pete the Cat Week

Our last theme week was Pete the Cat Week.  If you have a little one I'm sure you know this series of books.  They are all centered around Pete the cat.  They are great books that Matthew can easily read and there are a lot of them so we had a great time.

Molly wrote her name and practiced the letter Pp, and Matthew worked on rhyming.
 Molly's letter work
Matthew wrote all these words by himself, he wrote them how he heard them.
One of the books has Pete walking in his white shoes through all different things that turn them colors.  So here they are walking through red, blue, and brown paint.

One of the books is Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons, so the kids practiced sewing on button.s

Matthew was very proud of his work.  He made a smiley face with the buttons.
We went on a button scavenger hunt.  They had to find six buttons each, with their name on them.

 Our letter P, Petes.

We wrote a new Pete the Cat together, it is 15 pages.
The hardcover books have a repetitive part so this was ours from our book.
We went strawberry picking for part of our week because Pete steps in strawberries in one of the books.
The kids really liked it.  Nine, Matthew, Molly, Max

Max had the best time of anyone I think.  He ate a ton of strawberries.  People that walked by were laughing because he was having so much fun.

As you can imagine he was a mess.
It was all worth it though when you saw how much fun he had.
We also picked some sugar snap peas while we were there.
Here we are painting with strawberries, blueberries, and mud.

Our finished products, strawberries made the most color.
